Moving from Tally
Move from Tally without starting over.
Export two XML files from TallyPrime or Tally.ERP 9. Paraspar brings your company across: the accounts, customers and suppliers, items and godowns, the balances on the day you start, and every bill still unpaid. Bring the vouchers since then too, and the year's reports and GST returns are complete here.
- 1
Export the masters
In TallyPrime: Gateway of Tally, Export, Masters, All Masters, in XML (Data Interchange). In Tally.ERP 9: Display, List of Accounts, Alt+E, XML.
- 2
Export the day book
Export, Transactions, Day Book, from the beginning of your books to today, in XML. It works the balances out to your start date, and brings the vouchers from then on if you want them.
- 3
Check before anything is saved
Pick the start date, see where each Tally group lands in the chart of accounts, and change any. Every problem is shown before a single entry is made.
- 4
Compare, or undo
Each ledger's balance is compared with Tally's once the import is done. If something is not right, undo the whole import in one step and try again.
What comes across from Tally
- Groups and ledgers, placed in a GST-ready chart of accounts
- Customers and suppliers, with GSTIN, PAN, address, state and credit days
- Stock items, units (compound ones too), godowns, and batches with expiry dates
- Opening balances on your start date, worked forward from Tally's own figures
- Bill-wise outstanding: every unpaid invoice and bill, and advances on account
- Stock on hand by godown and batch, at its value
- Salary and TDS so far this year, so payroll's TDS is right from the first month
- If you choose, every voucher from the start date on: sales, purchases, credit and debit notes, receipts, payments, journals, contras, delivery and receipt notes and stock journals, with their own numbers and e-invoice IRNs
Stays in Tally
- Sales and purchase orders, memorandum and reversing journals: they are not part of the books
- Job work orders and material in or out, and attendance
- Cost centres and budgets
Questions
Does it work with Tally.ERP 9 as well as TallyPrime?
Yes. Both export the same XML, and both are read, including the UTF-16 files TallyPrime writes.
Do I have to bring every voucher?
No. The balances, unpaid bills and stock on your start date come across, worked out from Tally. The vouchers from that date on come in too if you choose: start on 1 April, and the whole year's reports and GST returns are here.
Will my invoice numbers stay the same?
Yes. Imported invoices keep Tally's numbers, and new ones carry on in Paraspar's own series.
Does anything leave my computer before I import?
No. The files are read in your browser; only what goes into your books is sent, when you press Import.
Set up your business in two minutes.
Free to start. No card. Bring your books across from Tally, Zoho Books or a spreadsheet whenever you are ready.
